Inspiration
We initiated our project after witnessing the despair of many local small businesses when competing with large e-commerce based MNCs. This struggle caused many business owners to close shop and revert to other forms of revenue or even unemployment.
What it does
The MenteeMap SMB Mentorship Program is intended to match small business owners with industry experts experienced in digital solutions, thus revitalizing their business and putting them on equal footing with MNCs.
How we built it
We built MenteeMap by extensively conducting surveys among small business owners and also mentors to identify the problems faced with current mentorship models.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was in matching the relevant mentor with the mentee, which we solved by incorporating 4 parameters for the AI to consider while match-making. We also had to come up with ideas to increase retention of mentees by incentivizing them.
