Inspiration
Before this hackathon, I played a video game series called Shin Megami Tensei and I was intrigued by its battle system, and how it was mechanically different from other turn based games.
What it does
It's just a fun lil game! With an event filled with websites, robotics, and other cool tech, I wanted to make something that won't exactly change the world, but put a smile on people's faces
How we built it
I used the Unity game engine with Visual Studio as my IDE. I used Aseprite for some of the asset creation as well.
Challenges we ran into
Unity can tend to be a bit slow at times, some times too slow...
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This was my first Hackathon I've completed solo! I wanted to challenge myself and work on being more productive under tighter time constraints
What we learned
I grown a bit more accustomed to how different object oriented systems are made and how I can apply them other projects outside of game development.
What's next for Digital Dino Summoner
That all depends on you! If there's enough support for the game, I might expand it a bit more. I've really enjoyed my time with this project and I'd be more than happy to continue development further.
