Digital Compass

An AI Virtual Counselor that helps students with their career paths, with an AR Feature that models technology, in full fidelity, and a learning platform specifically for digital literacy.

Inspiration

Working at the help desk, encountered lots of users who were digitally illiterate. While in middle school, I took a test that determined a suggested career path, and I feel this would be better, using my oculus quest at home to fly planes in VR inspired the AR portion of this app. TryHackMe also inspired to develop the digital literacy portion as well as the gamified experience made it easy for me to dive into cyber security.

How we built it

Using OpenAI I programmed the app in Dart for for the flutter app, using OpenAI I generated images for the app.

Challenges we ran into

Emulators in VSCode, went to sleep instead of staying up all night, lack of experience first time coding an app. First time at a hackathon, A lot of hours were spent into getting the emulator set up for the first time.

Working as a team, learning how to use dart, flutter, OpenAI API Keys, learning how to program effectively with OpenAI

What's next for Digital Compass

Website and integration for all features, including interactive AR Models for all technologies in history and future concept technologies with full functionality by using VR/AR headsets or AR Glasses to interact with cables and and AR Models. digital literacy specific learning platform for students and employees of corporations to prevent cyber attacks across the nation, the Digital Literacy component will also have achievements that gamify the learning experience as many users are digitally illiterate due to lack of interest, and or difficulty knowing where to start. Career Guidance for any user using OpenAI tailored to their current school and any school they would want to go to. Analyze degree requirements and gauge users personality to fit certain jobs. After App Development, website and desktop app development.

VR/AR Experience

  • Status: Currently developing the first 3D models.
  • Platform: Multiplatform between VR & AR devices, including mobile and desktop versions.

  1. Desktop Application: Working on the functional version first.
