Inspiration
We were inspired by our friend who had taken the time to draw out all of her clothes so that she could put together her outfits every day. It took her a very long time, and we thought making an app version of that could make it more accessible time and skill wise.
What it does
Users add pictures and information about their clothes to the app, and can manage information about their shirts, pants, one-pieces, accessories, and shoes.
How we built it
We used Java for the backend, and Swift for the UI.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of trouble using Swift, as we have very limited experience in it. We also had trouble taking user input.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to make a working UI that is easy to use and functional.
What we learned
Our skills in both Swift and Java got a lot better, especially in Object Oriented Programming.
What's next for Digital Closet
We hope to allow users to save outfits and even track their clothing budget on the app. We also would like to incorporate weather on to the app, so that users are able to see it when picking out their outfit for the day. We would also like to use AI to pick outfits based on the weather, taking into account the materials and colors of clothing items. We would also like to use AI in the future to fetch attributes of each clothing item from the picture/internet so that the user does not have to manually input clothing item attributes by themselves.
