Inspiration
The inspiration behind Digital Asset Protection & Inheritance (DAPNI) is to provide a secure and reliable solution to protect digital assets and ensure their safe inheritance. The increasing use of digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies, and the growing need for secure inheritance planning have made the private key a treasure to be secured. However, current system in lawyer firm does not protect the private key in a secure way by exposing it as a plain text in the will.
What it does
DAPNI is a solution designed to help protect digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies or other assets tied to a private key, and ensure their secure inheritance. DAPNI uses advanced encryption techniques to safeguard the private key and mitigate the risks of unauthorized access or exposure. It provides a simple and secure way for individuals to protect their digital assets during their lifetime and beyond, by ensuring that they are safely passed on to their designated beneficiaries. With DAPNI, users can have peace of mind that their digital assets are protected and that their loved ones or designated beneficiaries will be able to access them safely and securely.
How we built it
The first step is to design the smart contract using Solidity, which is the programming language used for writing smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. The smart contract defines the rules and conditions of the application and is deployed on the blockchain. Next, the backend application needs to be developed using a framework like NestJS. NestJS is a server-side framework that helps to build scalable and efficient server-side applications. React is a popular library for building user interfaces and can be used to build the frontend of the DApp. The next step is to integrate the frontend and backend to ensure that they work together seamlessly through several testing.
What we learned
It is a great way to gain hands-on experience in blockchain and smart contract development, while improving other knowledge such as pitching.
What's next for Digital Asset Protection & Inheritance
DAPNI could expand its offerings to cater to a wider range of digital assets and use cases.
