Inspiration

💀 Natural disasters affect 218 million people and claim 68,000 lives per year. 📉In 2022, the U.S. experienced 18 climate disasters that caused over $1 billion in damage. These 18 weather disasters cost the country ​​$175.2 billion in damage and resulted in 474 fatalities. Statistics of disasters 💹 Digimonate takes flight on a vision to foster a community-driven approach towards financial growth. 🫂 Everyone deserves a chance to achieve their dreams, and by harnessing the collective strength of individuals, we can create a platform that enables the realization of those dreams.

What it does

💸Digimonate allows users to raise money for the issues they face. ✅We understand the significance of financial aspirations and their impact on shaping individuals' lives. 💰That's why we've created a unique platform that empowers people to raise funds for their future endeavours, turning aspirations into realities.

How we built it

  • Digimonate is built on React, Redux toolkit, Flow
  • Vite-based React is used to improve the speed of the application
  • Flow is used for authenticating users.

Challenges we ran into

  • Integrating Flow posed serious problems with compatibility as a lot of components used were deprecated. However, we were able to make it run successfully
  • With the vast amount of options provided by Flow, it was difficult to identify the best ones for our application
  • With multiple technologies involved, identifying and resolving bugs were more complex. Debugging issues arising from the interaction between different components required thorough analysis to mitigate the problem.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Implementing a solution for people to solve their problems, helping to promote the spirit of community among them
  • Building a user-friendly application with simple navigation, and easy-to-use features.
  • Effectively collaborating with my teammate with the help of GitHub and version control

What we learned

  • Different challenges that can be encountered during development include 🚧 technical complexities, changing requirements in an ever-evolving web3 world 🌐
  • Importance of thorough planning 📃 and communication ☎ without which it would not be possible to build Digimonate.
  • The importance of helping out people in need, and why it is important to be a part of a helping community 🫂 as it is best to grow together by helping one another 🧑‍🤝‍🧑.

Future Plans

  • A way to donate NFTs to charities, as the future will be controlled by blockchain technologies
  • Integration with other blockchains for better reach and flexibility for users.
  • An auction for NFTs hosted online for these charities
  • Complete transparency of each penny's usage by the nominees of donation to satisfy users of just usage of their funds
  • An NFT reward for donors donating above some certain threshold value to show their appreciation of them by the requesting party.
