Difference between China and US by Kara, Weilin, Fangzhou

Inspiration

We are a group of international students from China and study in the U.S. After a series of culture shocks, we are interested in the differences between the two countries in various aspects.

What it does

Analyze the difference between China and the US.

How we built it

We make 12 plots to examine the difference in social, economic, and environmental aspects.

Challenges we ran into

We originally have more than 20 datasets available. So we first need to filter out what is actually helpful for our project. And we also need to do a lot of filtering on our datasets as well fixing some formatting errors. We also learned a new ML model called time series to predict the future trend of the unemployment rate in both China and the US.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All the plots and the analysis for them are done really well. Learning a new ML model is also really challenging but we did figure it out.

What's next for Difference between China and US by Kara, Weilin, Fangzhou

This project is appliable for both countries that the government can change policies according to what the result plots showed to us. In the future, we can continue adding data to it every year.
