Dicebound: TD started from my love of tower defence games that mix strategy with a little bit of luck. I was especially inspired by the feeling of never knowing exactly what kind of army a roll would give you, and then having to make the best of it through smart placement, saving, and combining units. From there, I developed the idea into a fantasy game where the player is reincarnated as a small God Caretaker protecting a damaged world. The main goal was to make the dice feel exciting without letting luck completely control the outcome, so players can recover through fusion, positioning, interest banking, and unit counters. The biggest challenge was keeping all of those systems easy to understand on mobile, which is why the first version focuses on a simple loop: roll guardians, place them around the Core, fuse duplicates, and decide whether to spend now or save for later.
