Inspiration
I watch a lot of tabletop games, and many of them incorporate dice at some point. Specifically with D&D where I see players having large collections of dice, so I though it would be interesting to make a game about that.
What it does do
This is a card game that is suppose to be a mixture of strategy and speed. The main goal is to have the 'best' dice collection compared to the other players. This might be through collecting cards or by making another player's horde less valuable. There are many ways to win in this game.
How we built it
I once the rules were, I used google sheets to write down all the cards I initially wanted in this game. Then I started to draw the dice and art of the carts. In order to make the card I make a custom google slides to export it to a Deck builder, so I can make a computer and playable version of the game
Challenges we ran into
Making this card game was a last minute change to due teammate issues, so making this too a lot of effort to make in a week. I also had to use TTS's deck builder for the first time and has issues uploading it as well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of the amount of work and though I put into this game so far.
What we learned
I learned a lot of planning and design for a game. It is hard to balance games without testing or feedback, so you don't know what people like or don't like about it so far. Even though the rules are detailed they might change base upon how people play.
What's next for Dice Hoarders
There are several things needed to be done for this project be complete such as:
- Add cleaner, more detailed add to old and add art to some cards
- Playtest and balance card abilities
- Balance dice values
- Possibly add more dice cards missing from original plan
