About DhaaraAI
Inspiration
Thalassemia patients in India struggle with frequent blood transfusions, donor shortages, and lack of real-time support. NGOs face challenges in donor retention and predicting blood supply gaps. This inspired DhaaraAI—an AI-powered platform to bridge these gaps through intelligent matching, predictive analytics, and automated assistance.
The Vision
We propose a system where:
- Patients receive automated transfusion reminders and AI-guided health support.
- Donors are engaged proactively via geolocation-based matching.
- NGOs gain real-time dashboards to track shortages and optimize drives.
Key Innovations
- AI Chat Assistant: Uses LLMs (like OpenAI) to answer patient queries and send reminders.
- Graph-Based Donor Matching: Maps donor-patient networks to predict drop-offs and suggest optimal matches.
- Low-Tech Adaptability: SMS/IVR fallbacks for users without smartphones.
Hypothetical Tech Stack
- Frontend: React Native (mobile app)
- Backend: Flask/Python (APIs)
- AI: OpenAI (chatbot), Neo4j (donor graph)
- APIs: e-RaktKosh (blood bank data), Google Maps (location)
Anticipated Challenges
- Data Privacy: Ensuring HIPAA/DPDP compliance for health data.
- API Reliability: Partnering with government systems like e-RaktKosh.
- Scalability: Designing for low-network regions.
Why It Matters
By 2030, India could save 10,000+ lives annually with smarter blood supply chains. DhaaraAI isn’t just an app—it’s a movement toward equitable healthcare.
