dGE - digitaler Gutschein-Euro

Inspiration

The current crisis is particularly dangerous for small and medium sized enterprises which are especially reeling from forced closures and stoppages.

What it does

A digital "crisis currency" that can be targeted precisely to the companies in need. A blockchain-based system of smart digital vouchers distributed to citizens based on their tax IDs.Using this this app on their smartphones, the public can both support current local offers and benefit from rebates for future ones.A new idea for targeted modern local business development. For the participants, the process is simple:The tax office sends letters to the public, containing a QR code that, in conjunction with the citizen's tax ID gives the App access to the dGE balance recorded on a Blockchain.Local businesses that are eligible for DGE subsidies can simply self-register using the dGE business app.Now citizens can easily pay for eligible goods and services transferring dGE from their smartphones to the shops.After that, shops can simply send their dGEs to the issuer and exchange them for Euros.

Impact

Money ist spent exactly where it is needed most, So local businesses can survive the current crisis. Citizens themselves know best which local businesses are most worthy and currently require support.Furture-proof: The system's open design allows adoption by local initiatives even without the state.

Our Progress

Using a Blockchain infrastructure every participant is given access to a digital wallet in which the state can place precisely targeted digital vouchers. That way, dGE, or Diggi, is creating a new instrument for fiscal and economic policy that is easily applicable by every administrative entitiy all over Europe. Current achievements:

Smart Contract updates (solc >=0.6) and usage of openzeppelin 3.0.0 contracts (ERC20, Access, Owncable)
Gathering ideas for paper wallet implementation (use case: citizens without a smartphone)
