đź’ˇ Inspiration

Resumes lie, GitHub can be gamed, and AI-generated code is everywhere. As developers, we’ve seen hiring processes fail to reflect real skill. We wanted to fix that by creating a verifiable skill identity—something developers can proudly share and recruiters can trust.

🚀 What it does

DevSkillCard lets developers verify their skills through AI-generated tests, GitHub analysis, and resume vetting. The platform creates a shareable SkillCard that recruiters can use to assess real capabilities. Recruiters can also post jobs, and our system ranks applicants based on verified skills and project relevance.

🔧 How we built it

We built the entire app on Bolt.new, using its backend and frontend stack. Authentication and data storage are handled with Supabase. We integrated the GeminiAI API via Edge Functions to generate contextual coding challenges and evaluate developer knowledge. The app is deployed and hosted in netlify and fully functional via a Bolt.new public URL.

🧱 Challenges we ran into

  • Ensuring AI-generated assessments matched the developer's actual GitHub profile and claimed skills.
  • Preventing gaming of the system while keeping the UX smooth.
  • Balancing recruiter needs for precision with developer needs for simplicity.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Fully functional skill verification pipeline built within the hackathon window.
  • Clean, shareable SkillCard that feels like a “Tech Passport” for devs.
  • Early interest from recruiters who want to test candidates using DevSkillCard.

📚 What we learned

  • The gap between self-reported skills and verified proof is huge—and fixable.
  • GitHub alone isn't a good metric; combining project analysis with targeted tests creates a stronger signal.
  • Bolt.new enabled us to move fast and iterate quickly without setting up boilerplate.

đź”® What's next for DevSkillCard

  • Add voice-based interview simulations using ElevenLabs or Tavus.
  • Launch a monetized recruiter dashboard using RevenueCat.
  • Deploy to Netlify and expand via custom domain support.
  • Build a talent marketplace layer where verified devs are matched to jobs automatically.

“Don’t just claim it. Prove it.” — DevSkillCard
