Inspiration
The pandemic has forced many to work or study from home, and almost everything is online. Now, it's now more difficult than ever to maintain focus without being distracted by advertisements popping up. We wanted to create an application that provided a distraction-free workspace.
What it does
To-do list and timer for time management.
How we built it
HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for the site's GUI. We used Flask for URL routing, and Director to host the site.
Challenges we ran into
Flask. We had some issues with Director and Flask, so that set us back a lot for long periods of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making it work (the site crashed a lot). Also, getting Flask to work.
What we learned
How to do basic Flask, some JavaScript, jQuery.
What's next for Optivity
An account system (we were planning to make it, but due to the many setbacks we had, we couldn't add it in time). The account system will allow users to save their to-do list and timer progress even when they leave the tab.
