Figma prototype

Inspiration

I have participated in several Devpost hackathons, and while the experience has been enjoyable, I believe there is always room for improvement. When I learned about this hackathon, I knew that I could contribute to the growth of Devpost by providing valuable feedback and ideas, as well as creating visual representations of them. As a UX Designer, I have identified areas where I believe Devpost can be innovated, and I look forward to sharing my insights with the team.

What it does

Calendar.- The calendar is an innovative tool that helps participants to organize their time when participating and keeping track of several hackathons. What makes the calendar unique is that users can add custom sticky notes on a desired day, and they can also see information about the hackathon as a popup modal. Extremely useful!

How we built it

The prototype was built in Figma based on the proposed wireframes. There was a user research done in order to think about the best features that could be added to Devpost.

Challenges we ran into

Certain prototyping functions in Figma which were more advanced.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to have come up with innovative ideas to support the development of Devpost. As an active user of the platform, it is exciting to know that our ideas will be taken into consideration for making improvements to the website.

What we learned

New animating techniques in Figma, user research methods.

What's next for The 2023 Devpost

At the moment, these ideas are only available as a high fidelity mockup on Figma. My personal goal would be to be able to personally support Devpost in the implementation of these ideas (if liked by the team). Contributing at Devpost as a UX Designer is something that excites me.
