Inspiration

I’ve always been drawn to the dark, neon-lit world of cyberpunk — its energy, its grit, and its mixture of humanity and machinery. This project started as a pure creative impulse. I wanted to explore this style freely, without a fixed narrative, and let the music and mood guide me. The track itself was also generated with AI, and once I heard it, the visuals began forming in my mind like flashes of a futuristic dream.

What it does

This video is an AI-driven music clip that immerses the viewer in a cyberpunk city filled with half-human, half-robot figures, a hooded DJ shaping sound in the shadows, and anonymous characters moving through neon fog. It creates an atmosphere rather than a story, a visual pulse that matches the rhythm of the music.

How we built it

The music was composed separately using Suno, which set the tone and rhythm for the entire clip. I created the foundation of this project by generating all the images in Midjourney the characters, the neon-lit environments, the DJ setups, and the atmospheric cyberpunk cityscapes. To bring static images to life, I used Kling to add motion, depth, and subtle animation that matched the electronic feel of the track. Finally, I assembled everything in CapCut, shaping the pacing, transitions, color mood, and overall style of the final video. The workflow became a balance of AI generation, manual curation, and rhythmic editing to create a cohesive, cinematic vibe.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was consistency. Cyberpunk visuals rely heavily on mood: darkness, neon, smoke, reflections and AI often broke this coherence. Matching characters across scenes was difficult too, especially when moving from close-ups to wide shots. Keeping everything cinematic and not letting AI “over-polish” or distort the details required many iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud that I created a full music video purely from imagination, without a fixed script, and still achieved a strong emotional tone and visual identity. The atmosphere feels alive the DJ, the fog, the glowing signs, the futuristic consoles all came together into a world that feels cohesive and immersive. The music and visuals amplify each other exactly the way I hoped.

What we learned

I learned how important intuition is when working with AI tools. Instead of forcing structure, I allowed the creative process to stay fluid, and the results became stronger because of it. I also gained experience in maintaining visual consistency across AI-generated frames and shaping mood through color, light, and rhythm. This project reinforced my love for cyberpunk aesthetics and my interest in exploring AI as a real artistic partner.

What's next for Devoid|AI music video

This video was a skill-building experiment a way to see how AI can create a full music clip without a big budget. I hope it inspires others, whether for learning or simply for enjoyment. For me, it was valuable experience that I’ll carry into my next, more ambitious AI projects.
