Inspiration
NanoMedSyn, a start-up company is specialist of mannose-6-phosphate receptor targeting with its lead compound called AMFA. This ubiquitous receptor mainly addresses enzymes to the lysosomes and NanoMedSyn made breakthrough in the fight against lysosomal storage disorders.
How I built it
*We believe our lead compound AMFA that is already synthesized at the pre-GMP scale could perhaps prevent the infection of the virus by cells, and could boost the immune system, based on literature results.
*We also propose to efficiently vectorize viruses to the lysosomes with nanoparticles covalently linked to AMFA. The nanoparticles could deliver chloroquine in the lysosomes therefore containing the virus in this compartment and leading to its destruction.
Challenges I ran into
To find financial support to develop our compounds and ideas.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
To have co-founded NanoMedSyn, a biotech start-up which is highly experienced in lysosome targeting.
What I learned
To get financial support to go from the preclinical stage to clinics is not an easy task at all. During this Hackathon, I met many interesting groups with cleaver ideas against SARS-CoV-2. In particular company Biohope, virologist Abel Viejo-Borbolla, Dr Jean-Baptiste Charbonnier.
What's next for
To build a consortium in order to answer to European calls on SARS-CoV-2.
