Inspiration

My biggest source of inspiration was the $400 Cash Prize! :) Anyway jokes aside, I was inspired by trello. As I have participated and both organized Hackathons, I understand the amount of pressure the participants face. Escpecially, considering online hackathons there is no effective way to coordinate or to manage time. So, when I saw an ad about Trello, I thought something like this would be so helpful for all of us! So, I came up with DevDash - A dashboard that tracks your hackathons, git repo, and team discussions!

What it does

DevDash is a web application which enables one to coordinate with teams, having features like automatic Hackathon timeline capturing, progress management, times based notifiers, and flexibilty to switch teams for different hackathons.

How we built it

I went with the industry choice MERN tech stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJS, and NodeJS) and ofcourse who can forget the OGs - HTML and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge arised when due to some port issue my MongoDB couldn't connect to application. This caused me to leave the backend part and focus on the frontend part with ReactJS. However, due to some version descrepancies the dashboard part could only be implemented using HTML and CSS.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of the end dashboard, and the login page!

What we learned

It was my first time working as a full stack developer, so I learned a lot! Usually, when I work with a team, we delegate stuff, however, this time I realized the importance of teamwork!

What's next for DevDash
