Who We Are
We are AI&ML Developers, classmates who survived late-night coding marathons, endless debugging loops, and way too much instant coffee. Between frantic assignment deadlines, seemingly impossible projects, and those moments when code just refuses to work, we realized something: developers don’t just need tools they need a companion who understands their struggles.
That’s how DevChum was born a sidekick built out of frustration, empathy, and a little caffeine-fueled creativity.
Our Main Goal is to solve the huge Problem that Developers Facing in their Day to Day life for code that will make sure work properly in all aspect and Platforms with any Failures.
What Inspired Us
One day, we hit a roadblock that seemed impossible. No matter what we tried, our code wouldn’t cooperate. That’s when we heard about the Baseline Hackathon. Instead of seeing it as just a competition, we saw an opportunity to solve real developer pain points not only ours, but everyone else’s too.
DevChum isn’t just an extension; it’s a trusted teammate, ready to guide, assist, and lighten the load without judgment, without impatience, just pure support.
What We Built for Baseline Hackathon
DevChum is your real-time coding buddy that:
- Understands your code and spots issues instantly
- Takes over repetitive tasks, so you can focus on creativity
- Offers actionable insights as you type, like a mentor who’s always there
- Keeps your workflow smooth and your sanity intact
We didn’t stop there. We built a full-featured Online IDE that feels like a friend sitting next to you:
- Support for JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and more
- AI integration for smart code suggestions, auto-completion, and fixes
- Real-time collaboration and cross-browser support
- Dashboard to track project health, code quality, and progress
It’s pair programming without stress, with AI-powered suggestions that actually make sense inside VS Code or on the web.
How We Built It
We poured our hearts into combining TypeScript, VS Code Extension API, modern web technologies, and AI APIs to craft DevChum:
// AI-powered quick fix suggestion
const fix = DevChum.suggestFix(codeSnippet);
applyFix(fix);
- AST-based analysis for JS/TS
- Intelligent CSS & HTML detection
- AI-assisted fixes and fallback suggestions
- Real-time dashboard for insights and compatibility

Challenges & Lessons Learned
Building DevChum wasn’t easy and it wasn’t supposed to be. Every bug, crash, and late-night debugging session taught us something:
- Complex code parsing: Handling JS, TS, CSS, and HTML accurately felt impossible at times
- AI integration: Making suggestions helpful but non-intrusive reminded us to think like a developer, not just a coder
- UX Design: Ensuring DevChum is intuitive demanded empathy and constant feedback
- Online IDE integration: Bringing AI-powered coding features to the browser required persistence, patience, and endless testing
- Turning pain into purpose: Discovering the hackathon after facing our own issue showed us we could solve our problem and help developers everywhere
Every challenge strengthened our conviction: DevChum can make coding less frustrating and more joyful.
Why It Matters
DevChum is built by developers, for developers who have felt the frustration, the confusion, and the joy of seeing code finally work.
It transforms tedious debugging into smooth coding flow, helps you ship faster, and even makes you smile while coding. Because at the end of the day, coding is more than syntax — it’s passion, creativity, and the drive to solve problems.
DevChum isn’t just a tool it’s a companion that gets you, your struggles, and your victories.
