Inspiration
We were inspired to dive into the duality of fighting and the pointlessness of it.
What it does
Human vs monster battle with a storyline that has a narrator built into it. As you progress you see multiple perspectives of the fighting and finally a wholly encompassing perspective of a god. You see how large the world really is and thus decide for yourself - is it really worth it?
*** When testing the project, if a level is too difficult, you may instantly kill the enemy using your god powers by pressing 't' ***
How we built it
We used pygame as our game engine to draw to the screen. We used paint.net to create our own sprites and soundbible to acquire royalty free audio for our game. We started by storylining what we wanted to create and how we were going to show duality, then got voice lines from Mr. Sharick, and assembled it all together to create this game.
Challenges we ran into
We used school computers to build this - mostly, and had no source control like github to share our code. So, we fought through it, using codeshare for source control, having to manually input changes to parts of the whole file.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created all of our
What we learned
We learned lots of new skills including working with sounds in python as well as text on screen.
What's next for Devastation of Battle
We would like to add a better AI for the enemy as well as more types of attacks which we weren't able to do due to time constraints.
