Inspiration
Modern software teams juggle pull requests, issues, code quality, and productivity—but current tools feel fragmented and reactive. I wanted to build something smarter. Something that combines AI-powered insights, beautiful design, and real-time collaboration into a single cohesive platform.
What it does
DevAI Hub is a complete development management platform that uses Google Gemini AI to provide actionable insights for pull requests, issue tracking, and team performance. It's production-ready with real-time sync, role-based plans, and a stunning Apple-level interface.
How I built it
- Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript using Vite for speed and scalability
- Design: Tailwind CSS with custom design system, 8px grid, and bold priority indicators
- State: React Context API for real-time updates
- AI: Google Gemini 2.5-flash model for PR scoring, risk prediction, and performance suggestions
- Deployment: Built with Bolt.new and deployed via Netlify
Challenges I ran into
- Creating graceful fallbacks for when the Gemini API failed
- Designing a freemium system with dynamic feature locking
- Ensuring responsiveness and accessibility at every stage
- Keeping UX smooth while still offering a full app-level feature set
What I learned
- How to use Bolt.new’s prompt-based dev power effectively
- Building professional-grade modals, state sync, and UI/UX at scale
- Integrating AI models like Gemini in a real user-facing application
- That great UI/UX and real AI is the best way to delight developers
