Determining Factors in a Student's GPA

Inspiration

Originally was going to do project on food waste using google cloud. I couldn't find in a short time a dataset I liked, I had also found I liked tableau better. I found one with both student and food choice data and decided to figure out if factors can predict a student's grade in their everyday life, based off food.

What it does

The tableau document analyzes the data. Then the python file predicts a student's gpa based off of other factors in the students lifestyle.

How we built it

I used tableau for analytics, and to find correlations between variables for use later in the prediction tool. The prediction tool uses python and several libraries to clean data and predict future data.

Challenges we ran into

My main computer did not read the csv file no matter what I did, so I worked between 2 computers.

The first dataset wasn't actually useable, so I had to switch half through.

Limited time, the prediction tool is unable to be done by 11:30EST..

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning Tableau, and it not coming out horrible.

Doing lots of research on python prediction libraries since I didn't know much about some of them. I've only worked with prediction a little and had thought it was really fun.
