blah blah blah

What it does

Mclockin Jr. is a desk companion that keeps you on track. It uses sensors to monitor light exposure and your focus. If you slack off or the environment changes, it drives around and talks to you to get your head back in the game.

How we built it

We used CAD for the body, 3D printing for the parts, and Python with some AI for the logic. There was also a ton of soldering to get the sensors and motors talking to each other.

Challenges we ran into

hardware is a nightmare. We ran into constant issues with 3D printing tolerances (nothing fit right at first) and messy wiring that kept shorting out. We spent more time debugging with a multimeter than we did actually buildin

Accomplishments that we're proud of

honestly? We didn't quit. There were moments where the wiring or the prints felt impossible, but we pushed through. Seeing it finally move and talk on its own was a huge win.

What we learned

Troubleshooting isn't a "delay"—it is the process. We learned how to fail fast, fix parts on the fly, and manage a complex build under a tight deadline.

What's next for desk companion

We’re going to tighten up the mechanical design to fix the tolerance issues and add more features, like calendar syncing and better voice responses.
