Inspiration

Our inspiration primarily stemmed from a piece of fashion technology seen and used in the 90's coming-of-age movie "Clueless". This outfit "simulator" or "designer" captivated young viewers because of how innovative, convenient, and just plain cool and fun it was. Being able to flip through, essentially, your whole closet on a screen was alluring. While this isn't the most practical, undeniably there was something so enticing about it. Though this application isn't anything revolutionary, we want this to address the issue of over-consumption. Allowing users to browse their closet while shopping, one may be influenced not to buy another black tank top when they can visibly see that they have just that in their closet. Another approach to the aspect of overconsumption could be that a user could compare clothing online to clothing in their closets by, perhaps, seeing if they match or not.

What it does

Allows the user to upload pieces of clothing to mix and match outfits.

How we built it

We started with a GUI and then integrated artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence curates possible outfits based on what previous outfits the user liked and didn't like.

Challenges we ran into

We had other ideas but realized they were not feasible so we had to make adjustments to our idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We integrated artificial intelligence into our code.

What we learned

We learned a lot about using AI and Dall-E specifically.

What's next for Designer Wardrobe

We want to integrate more features that help to combat over-consumerism.
