🏎️ Desert Racer 3D

🔥 What Inspired Me

I've always loved playing racing games, especially ones with cool environments like deserts or mountains. I thought it'd be fun to build my own version of a car racing game, but with a desert twist—something that feels fast and a little wild, like racing across dunes in the middle of nowhere.

💡 What I Learned

This project taught me a lot about how 3D environments work in game engines. I learned how to set up player controls, create a camera that follows the car smoothly, and manage UI elements like speed and lap counters.

🚧 Challenges I Faced

The biggest challenge was getting the car physics to feel right. Too fast and it’d spin out, too slow and it wasn’t fun. Tuning the camera angle and speed display also took some trial and error. Another tricky part was placing checkpoints and getting the lap counter to trigger correctly. But after a dozen tries, everything came together!
