Inspiration

Our inspiration came from our own problems dealing with eczema and acne, as a college student we often don't have the money to afford dermatology care. One of our team members struggled a lot with eczema and had no idea what it was and how to treat it, with this new solution people can find easy relief by simply taking a picture of said problem, identifying it, and finding solutions targeted towards them!

What it does

DermaFind using AI will essentially ask the user for basic details about their skin issue, and use images uploaded to identify a diagnosis.

How we built it

We used Python for the backend and to implement our AI. For the frontend, we used HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and React.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we ran into was figuring out how to combine the different inputs we get from the user, we used help from mentors and many team discussions to develop different ideas.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of coming up with this idea and being able to implement it in such a short period.

What we learned

We learned how to implement AI and dealing with API's as well as learning new languages like React and Python.

What's next for DermaFind

Our next step is to create a more friendly user interface and implement this on an app. We also want to train our AI to ask even more personalized questions by using the image inputted by the user.
