What it does

It is a Rougelike video game about a character trying to escape a place called the Void.

How we built it

Using Javascript with an HTML canvas

Challenges we ran into

I have never really been good at making art, and I've always worked on games that use actual art with my sibling (who is good at art) This is the first time I've really actually tried to make a game with my own art that isn't just a square with eyes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm really happy that I finished at all, and also very happy that the art turned out well.

What we learned

I learned that just because you have a really good idea, you don't need to fully commit to it. In fact, what I learned is that when on a short timeline, you should cut out features earlier on to have time to finish the more important things, then come back to those later.

What's next for Depth of the Void

I might work on it more to add all of the other features I didn't get to during the hackathon (like the story)
