From Dental News in 2012 to Dentvio
The idea behind Dentvio started in 2012, when I built a simple application called Dental News using RSS feeds to collect dental information from different sources.
The problem was clear even then: dentists had to search across many websites and sources to find information relevant to their interests.
But the technology had a major limitation.
The app could collect information, but it couldn't really understand it or personalize it for each dentist.
Today, the problem is even bigger.
As a dentist, I know how difficult it is to keep up with the enormous amount of information being published across dentistry every day: research, clinical evidence, new dental materials, implant systems, digital technologies, AI, webinars, continuing education, conferences, and new products.
The problem is no longer finding information.
The problem is deciding what is worth your time.
Our answer: Dentvio
Dentvio uses AI and personalization to discover and organize important developments across dentistry and turn them into a personalized professional Radar.
Instead of giving dentists another endless feed, Dentvio focuses on the information that is most relevant, timely, and worth attention.
Each Radar item is designed to help answer three simple questions:
What happened?
Why does it matter?
Why am I seeing it?
Dentvio brings together several areas of professional intelligence:
- Dental research and clinical evidence
- New dental products and materials
- Dental technology and AI
- Webinars and continuing education
- Conferences and professional events
Why we built it
The original Dental News application taught me something that is still true today:
Collecting information is easy. Filtering it well is difficult.
Modern AI finally makes it possible to build the system I originally imagined in 2012, but with a much deeper understanding of the dentist and the information itself.
Dentvio is designed to help dentists spend less time searching across dozens of sources and more time learning, practicing, and keeping up with the developments that matter to them.
What we learned
The biggest lesson has been simple:
More information does not create more value. Better filtering does.
That principle is at the center of Dentvio.
We are building a product that does not try to show dentists everything.
It tries to show them what matters.
Where we are going
Dentvio is starting with a personalized Radar and professional discovery experience, with the goal of becoming a daily intelligence layer for dentists.
The original idea began with RSS in 2012.
