Inspiration

This app was inspired by my recent visit to the dentist. Dentists make me nervous and I am left with so many questions. At the end of my appointment I couldn't remember what treatments were suggested. All I had was a treatment plan with the cost of treatments. This made me think about people who find it difficult understanding dental terms and procedures, especially those learning a new language or who speak multiple languages. Dental care should be an important part of our health and be accessible to all. We need to understand the importance of oral hygiene and make informed decisions.

What it does

Helps users understand their dental journey.
It provides a written description of the dental visits and dental tips.
Includes interactive teeth scan for users to move around the mouth palate and educate users about their personal dental needs.
It also has animated videos to look at the procedures that will be performed.
We also have a subscription plan and referral system to earn and save on dental procedures.
Most importantly, it has to focus on the tone of language so that the information is not too technical and easy to understand.

How we built it

The app prototype was built using Figma. Blender was used for the teeth scan image on the home page.

Challenges we ran into

We didn't know how to show that the app is assistive technology friendly. It was supposed to keep accessibility at the forefront. We weren't able to code the app and include the safety features as we were using React and we couldn't make it work on a phone.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to convey the idea of the app. We were beginners using Figma and blender. We tried our best to learn this software in a short period of time.
