Inspiration:
Chicago is a melting pot of artists and art alike. We wanted to allow both visitors and native born Chicagoans to be able to experience not only the wonderful art Chicago has to offer but also discover the artist(s) behind it. We wanted to Paint the town red.
How We Built it:
We all wanted to challenge ourselves to learn a program and language we had never used before. We decided as a team to learn Native React as a way of dipping our feet into early app development. Github and Git were used to allow us to share files between each other.
Challenges We Ran Into:
The learning curve for learning Native React. While we enjoyed the challenge it definitely isn't possible to master a language in three days! Git also brought its own challenges and in some ways was even harder to learn than Native React. Merging became our most hated enemy but through the great support of the mentors and other students alike we were able to pull through!
Accomplishments That We Are Proud Of:
Being able to merge our files brought so many challenges that finally being able to do it due to the great help of others really made us feel proud as a team.

I felt like I learned more in 36 hours than I have had in 18 years. I came into this entire hackathon without absolutely 0 knowledge. I'm really proud of what we as a group were able to do. With all of us at different levels, we took on a new challenge in building a new framework and can say we definitely learned a lot.
Madeline
Managed to learn more about the tech world as a whole; new platforms/frameworks/softwares have been brought to my attention, and I'm excited to further investigate them myself.
Leticia
Learning new concepts in 36 hours and working with a solid team despite our different levels of experience. We struggled together and overcame our struggles together. It was very rewarding to come up with an idea and to be able to put it into code while trying out a new framework
Morgan
The perseverance of the team. It was amazing working with them and I am so glad I was on the same team as them.
What we learned… :
Git, Github, Native React, Javascript, and most important Bob Ross paints super fast for something meant to be relaxing.
What's Next for Us Post DemonHacks?:
Ali
I used DemonHacks as a way to test the waters and to see if enjoyed coding. To me I was on the verge on switching my major from accounting to computer science, I was super scared because of how little I knew and the vast amount of information in the field. I'm so happy I just took a shot and learned because the community is something that makes me what to come back. What's next for me excites me!!
Leticia
I really enjoyed this opportunity to test my skills. I'm eager to see what I can build in the near future as my skills strengthen.
Madeline
Expanding my knowledge and understanding of all the technology out there by exploring whatever may interest me
Morgan
Learning more about Native React and finishing my classes this semester!
