Inspiration

Hackathon teams spend hours building exciting projects, but often have little time left to create polished demos. We wanted to make sharing what you've built as easy as building it.

What it does

DemoForge turns a GitHub repository into a short, engaging demo video. It uses AI to understand the project, capture key screens, and generate cinematic visuals, narration, and music—helping teams tell their story in seconds.

How we built it

We combined GitHub OAuth with AI-powered project analysis, Playwright for capturing the application, Higgsfield for cinematic scenes, ElevenLabs for narration, and FFmpeg for video assembly. MCP integrations connect the tools into one workflow.

Challenges we ran into

Coordinating multiple AI tools into a reliable pipeline was challenging. We also had to ensure generated videos accurately represented the real application while keeping the process fast and cohesive.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a workflow that transforms a codebase into a shareable product demo, reducing the effort required to showcase a project. We're especially proud of bringing several AI tools together into one experience.

What we learned

We learned how to orchestrate multiple AI services, work with MCP integrations, and turn a complex multi-step process into a user-focused product. We also saw how important it is to balance creative AI output with technical reliability.

What's next for DemoForge

We want to improve video quality and customisation, support more repositories and frameworks, and explore using Git history to tell the story of how a project evolved over time.
