Inspiration
Dementia is a terrible condition where people get memory loss and are unable to communicate effectively.
What it does
This projects aims to suggest the use of Convoluted Neural Networks (CNN) to decipher what dementia patients are trying to communicate. Data from the brain cortex will be fed into a CNN. The CNN uses a model based on previous data to suggest what the patient is trying to say in the form of text or images! The more the data, the better is the CNN. I believe one day, CNNs will be able to produce clear images from the memories of a dementia patient.
How we built it
I have created a YouTube video explaining the significance of CNNs and deep neural networks.
Challenges we ran into
The field of CNNs was quite complicated to understand at first.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am happy that dementia patients can probably see a light at the end of their dark and gloomy tunnel. They could communicate like normal humans once again!
What we learned
I learned a lot about how neural networks in the brain can be used to create CNNs that could possibly help us in unimaginable ways!
What's next for Dementia
I will explain this idea to a larger group and dive into the technical aspect of this project. I will try to create my own CNN system using AI and Machine Learning.
