Inspiration

Our team has a deep history with this mission because one of our members has been manually gamifying her life goals into micro-actions and rewards through physical journaling. This process has helped her stay motivated and consistent enough to win multiple grants for her projects and a prestigious scholarship for her Master’s Degree. We wanted to use this experience to build a tool that helps women overcome imposter syndrome, stop waiting for a sign and start moving toward their six-figure salaries and global travel dreams.

What it does

Delulu is a "Main Character Energy" engine that converts massive, terrifying dreams into winnable levels. Users input a goal, and our AI BlueprintService breaks it down into a 5-level journey with quests and rewards in each level. Users can further break quests into micro-actions and complete them to travel from a wasteland level all the way into the cosmos level where they have completed enough quests to find that their dream is now a winnable final quest. The quest nodes transform into actual photo evidence of the work done, creating a “Journey map” of the user. There’s also a “Vision Board” where users can enter notes and add photos of their dream to remember what makes their efforts worth working on.

Along with this main feature, the app tracks daily "Side Quests" for habits, logs "Little Wins" with AI hype for celebrating little wins, and “Wheel of Life” where users can enter their tasks and analyze which sectors need working for a balanced life they want. Every interaction with features slowly earns achievements for the user, showing what they have accomplished over time. It’s about building confidence through data.

How we built it

We built the app using Flutter to ensure we could reach both iOS and Android users efficiently. The architecture relies on flutter_riverpod for robust state management and a custom Node.js backend and MongoDB database to handle our BlueprintService. We integrated RevenueCat to manage our "Explorer Plan" subscriptions, providing users with personalized AI coaching and advanced analytics like the "Wheel of Life". We have used Cerebras, Gemini and Perplexity AI models to create a fast and trustable app.

Challenges we ran into

Translating our manual journaling processes into a structured app logic was a major hurdle. We overcame this with continuous discussions and iterations on ideas before finally working on the app.

We also struggled initially with AI models providing inconsistent quest structures or timing out during complex generation. We solved this by implementing a multi-model redundancy system, utilizing Cerebras Llama, Gemini Flash, and Perplexity Sonar to ensure the "Hype Man" is always active and the blueprints are always reliable.

Finally, getting Revenuecat payments to work with Play Store was also a major hurdle where we had to spend a lot of time on. As the hackathon deadline neared, the fear of not being able to ship the app on time increased. But finally after many iterations and waiting to get Google Cloud servers updated, the payments were finally working.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We succeeded in building an app that is actually fun to use and visually stunning. We moved past the boring, sterile design of traditional planners to create a high-saturation, pastel-colored world and exciting maps filled with confetti and "Main Character" energy. Seeing a user's progress transform from a generic icon into a photo of their actual hustle on the Map is a win we’re incredibly proud of.

What we learned

This project reinforced that building from a place of personal passion makes the development process move faster and more effectively. By using our own proven life-hacking processes as the foundation, we were more motivated to polish every detail, from the physics of the floating habit bubbles to the specific tone of the AI hype messages and appearance of user journeys on the maps.

What's next for delulu

Our immediate priority is a comprehensive security audit to move beyond "vibe-coding" and fully secure our users' dream data. We will also be working on home screen widgets so users can log wins and track habits without even opening the app. Since our target audience is heavily iPhone-based and we have made this app on a cross platform framework, we also want to release the iOS version soon with premium UI animations to make the experience feel even more high-end and rewarding.
