Goals can be added to the vision board by the user.
-
Our AI turns big goals into actionable, daily micro-quests called rituals.
-
Users are given words of encouragement before they start a ritual!
-
A timer starts when a user begins a ritual, encouraging accountability.
-
When a ritual is completed, there is a blast of confetti and words of encouragement!
-
Completing a goal yields a much more grand congratulations.
-
Completed goals can be shared to IG/TikTok as receipts; this is an organic marketing feature built into the app.

The paywall is designed for optimal conversion and strong monetization potential.
✨ Delulu — Manifest Your Dream Life
"They called it delusional. We call it a plan."
Delulu is the first AI-powered vision board app that doesn't just help you dream — it helps you do. Users build beautiful vision boards, define their goals, and GPT-4o generates personalized daily micro-actions called Rituals — turning "someday" into "today."
💡 Inspiration
Vision boards work. Neuroscience confirms it — visualization primes the Reticular Activating System, reinforces identity-based habits, and keeps goals top of mind. Gabby Beckford has been preaching this for years: get specific about what you actually want, then build accountability around it.
But the tools are broken:
| Current Tool | The Problem |
|---|---|
| 📌 Physical vision boards | Get shoved in a closet after January |
| 📱 Pinterest boards | Infinite-scroll dopamine traps with zero accountability |
| 🖼️ Existing vision board apps | Glorified mood boards — pretty pictures, no action |
| 📊 Goal-tracking apps | Soulless spreadsheets that kill the dream energy |
There's a massive gap: no app connects the emotional power of visualization with an intelligent action system that actually moves you toward your goals. Millions of women create vision boards every year and never take a single step toward what's on them — not because they lack ambition, but because they lack a bridge between dreaming and doing.
That's the bridge we built.
🚀 What It Does
Delulu follows a core loop we call Dream → Act → Prove → Share → Repeat.
The Flow
- 🎨 Dream It — Users build their vision board with images representing their goals (photo, gallery, or search).
- 📝 Define It — For each goal, they provide a name, description, deadline, and their main constraining factor (budget, time, or knowledge).
- 🤖 Break It Down — GPT-4o takes those four inputs and generates a personalized sequence of daily micro-actions called Rituals, tailored to what's actually standing in her way.
- ⏱️ Act On It — When she starts a Ritual, a timer locks in — no half-commitments. When she finishes: confetti, warm encouragement, a hit of dopamine.
- 📸 Prove It — She collects Receipts — photo-based proof of progress — sharable to Instagram Stories and TikTok in one tap with branded overlays.
- 🔥 Level Up — Her MCE Meter (Main Character Energy) grows as she makes progress. Minimum score is 20 ("NPC Energy") because you opened the app — that alone means you showed up.

🛠️ How We Built It
Tech Stack
| Layer | Technology | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Frontend | SwiftUI (iOS 17+) | Native performance, modern declarative UI, @Observable for state management |
| Architecture | MVVM | Clean separation of concerns, testable ViewModels |
| Backend | Supabase | Auth, PostgreSQL database, Storage (image uploads), Edge Functions |
| AI | GPT-4o via Supabase Edge Functions | Text-only — we send goal name, description, deadline, and constraint. No images are sent to AI. |
| Monetization | RevenueCat | Manages freemium tiers, subscription lifecycle, paywall presentation |
| Image Loading | Nuke | High-performance async image loading and caching |
| Animations | Lottie | Smooth, lightweight animations for celebrations and onboarding |
| Celebrations | SwiftUI-Confetti | Confetti bursts for quest completions and goal celebrations |
AI Architecture — The Delulu Engine
The AI is deliberately text-only — no images are sent to GPT-4o. The user provides four structured inputs:
Goal Name → "Travel to Japan"
Description → "Solo backpacking trip across Japan for 2 weeks"
Deadline → "December 2026"
Constraining Factor → "Budget"
GPT-4o returns a structured sequence of Rituals — daily micro-actions that respect the constraint:
Day 1: "Research budget airlines to Tokyo — compare 3 options and screenshot the best fare" (10 min)
Day 2: "Open a dedicated travel savings account and set up a $25/week auto-transfer" (15 min)
Day 3: "Find 3 budget hostels in Tokyo on HostelWorld and save them to a list" (10 min)
Each Ritual is small, specific, and designed to create momentum — not overwhelm.
Monetization Model
| Tier | Price | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| Delulu Pro | 7-day free trial, then $9.99/mo | Unlimited boards & items, 10 AI Rituals/day, unlimited receipts, Opportunity Radar, detailed analytics, premium share overlays |
The paywall is presented after the user has built their first vision board during onboarding — by that point, they've invested emotionally. RevenueCat's data shows hard paywalls at this stage drive significantly higher conversion.
😤 Challenges We Faced
1. Designing the Emotional Onboarding Flow
The biggest drop-off risk is when a user is asked to add their first dream to the board. We had to make this moment feel exciting, not overwhelming — offering three paths (camera, gallery, search) and keeping AI follow-up questions to a max of 3, always encouraging, never interrogating.
2. AI Prompt Engineering for Actionable Micro-Actions
Getting GPT-4o to generate Rituals that are specific enough to be actionable but flexible enough to feel personal took dozens of iterations. Early prompts returned generic advice ("research your goal"). We had to teach the model to think like "a supportive life coach who also happens to be a project manager."
3. The MCE Meter Minimum
Should the minimum confidence score be 0? We debated this extensively. The answer is no — the minimum is 20 ("NPC Energy"). The whole philosophy is delusional confidence. You opened the app. You showed up. That's worth 20. This became a core brand decision that shaped the entire gamification system.
4. Keeping AI Costs Sustainable
GPT-4o calls aren't free. By making the AI text-only (no image analysis) and limiting free-tier users to 2 Rituals/day, we keep per-user AI costs predictable while still delivering the core value proposition.
📚 What We Learned
Paywall Psychology is Real
RevenueCat's data — and our own testing — confirmed that emotional investment before the paywall is everything. Letting users build their vision board first, then showing the upgrade screen, dramatically changes the conversion calculus. People don't pay for features; they pay to protect something they already feel ownership over.
Building for a Specific Creator's Community Changes Everything
Designing for Gabby Beckford's audience wasn't just a competition strategy — it forced us to make sharper product decisions. The Receipts system mirrors her "proof over promises" content style. The Opportunity Radar mirrors her SeekPTO philosophy. The tone is encouraging but real — no toxic positivity. When you design for a specific community, you stop building generic features and start building features that resonate.
The Gap Between Visualization and Action is the Entire Product
Every vision board app stops at "look at your pretty pictures." Every goal app starts at "here's a checklist." Nobody bridges the two. The insight that the gap itself is the product — that the bridge between dreaming and doing is where all the value lives — shaped every feature we built.
"Delusional" is a Feature, Not a Bug
We were nervous about leaning into the "delulu" branding. Would it feel unserious? Would judges roll their eyes? But Gen-Z has reclaimed "delusional confidence" as a legitimate motivational framework. Elon Musk was "delusional" about reusable rockets. Gabby was "delusional" about traveling to 50+ countries before 30. Leaning into this energy — ambitious but self-aware, serious about goals but never taking itself too seriously — became our biggest differentiator.
