Inspiration
The inspiration of our project is driven from our experiences that highlighted inefficiencies that could be solved via practical, tech-driven solutions. We wanted to build something that could be used beyond the scope of this hackathon and be deployed into the real-world. During the idea-formulation stage, we learnt about each other's strengths, collaboration, time-management and integrating each other's strengths when being under a time limit. Even just during the stage where we were discussing the idea and the step-wise procedure of how we were going to form our project, we identified several problems that would cause us trouble during the actual coding stage. Overcoming these problems has helped us in becoming a stronger team.
What it does
Our idea offers a solution that uses technology to simplify and address a real-world problem. It aims to give users an easy and effective way to handle their daily challenges. The concept is meant to improve accessibility, lessen manual work, and provide real benefits through smart automation and a user-focused design.
How we built it
During this brainstorming phase, we explored various problem areas and narrowed it down to one with significant social and practical relevance. We looked into the main user issues, created a functional flow, and mapped out the structure of our proposed system. Our team also made initial wireframes and identified key technologies necessary to bring the idea to life in the next stage.
Tech stack (to be used)
Frontend : React.js / Next.js (for an interactive, responsive UI) Backend : Node.js with Express (for efficient API handling) Database : MongoDB / Firebase (for robust and scalable data storage) Authentication : Firebase Auth / JWTCloud & Deployment: AWS / Vercel / Render Additional Tools : GitHub for version control, Figma and Canva for design, and Postman for API testing
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was finding a problem that balances real-world impact with technical feasibility within the hackathon timeline. We also needed to bring together different viewpoints, filter out similar ideas, and keep the concept innovative yet doable. Another challenge was setting clear success metrics for something that was still in the concept stage.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We effectively refined a broad concept into a clear, well-defined idea. Our biggest success was gaining a clear understanding of how our proposed solution meets user needs and differentiates itself from existing options. The collaborative brainstorming process also improved our teamwork and communication skills.
What we learned
This phase taught us the importance of organized brainstorming and active listening. We realized how essential it is to clearly define the problem statement and the use case before considering implementation. We also learned how to turn creative ideas into a logical plan, balancing innovation with practicality, and working efficiently as a diverse team.
