Inspiration
As a developer, I constantly review code changes — but most tools either overwhelm you with noise or miss what actually matters. I wanted a clean, fast tool that could look at a diff and tell you exactly what changed, what's risky, and what could be better. DeltaReview was built to solve that.
What It Does
DeltaReview is a serverless AI-powered code diff analyzer built by a developer, for developers. Paste in a code diff, select your language, and get real-time structured feedback covering:
- Code quality
- Potential bugs
- Security concerns
- Improvement suggestions
Supports 23+ programming languages.
Friction was removed at every step — no account, no login, no setup. Just open it and use it. Want to keep your results? Export as JSON or Markdown with one click.
How I Built It
Built entirely solo using:
- Frontend: Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS
- Backend: Vercel Serverless Functions
- AI: Groq API (LLaMA 3) — chosen for speed and accuracy on code tasks
- Deployment: Vercel
Fully serverless — no traditional backend, no database overhead. Fast, stateless analysis on demand.
Challenges
Prompt engineering was the hardest part. Getting the model to return consistently structured feedback across 23 languages required significant iteration. Handling edge cases — malformed diffs, unsupported syntax, ambiguous changes — without breaking the UX took real work.
What I Learned
- How to architect a production-grade serverless application from scratch
- How to work effectively with LLM APIs for code analysis tasks
- How to think deeply about developer experience — every unnecessary step you remove is a reason for someone to actually use your tool
- How to independently ship and launch a real product, including a Product Hunt launch
