Delos an Effect Network UI specifically thought for image labeling tasks.

Inspiration

Living in El Salvador 🇸🇻, a small country in Central America, we have seing a huge oportunity in Blockchain as a means to solve a lot of technological problems, not just for my country but for the world. The president of El Salvador launched a wallet called Chivo with a lot of technological flaws, one of those problems is the nonexistent KYC verification proccess which lead to millions of accounts been compromised or even stolen.

That problem inspired us to create a tool called delos. It allows anyone to submit a Document and using the amazing Effect Workforce, we categorize the data from the image and validate if it is in fact a useful document.

What it does

delos allows our users to create campaigns using our UI, specifically thought for image labeling tasks, and using the Effect Workforce 🦾, we retrieve very useful information for our customers. In the future, we want to allow our users to access an API and dynamically consult if the information they provided is valid 💥.

How we built it

We built delos using React.js as our front end library and Node.js for some backend related tasks. The Effect Developer SDK is the backbone of our platform because allows us to be connected to the blockchain and the amazing Effect Network Workforce 🙌.

Challenges we ran into

At first, it was quite difficult to understand how to create a User Interface that was both easy to understand and simple enough for us to built in less than a month.

Another problem was trying to figure how to make the platform faster. We understand that the testnet runs on Jungle 3 and sometimes it might get slow, but unfortunately, it was too slow and the things that we need to do in order to show useful information to our users didn't work.

So we had to use some other methos like storing in cache some information and also using a mongoDB in order to make the platform faster.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We feel proud as a team beacuse, in a very short amount of time, we were able to build an MVP with a very intuitive User Intarface that allows anybody to create campaings for document labeling in almost no time. And of course, we are very proud of ourselves for learning the Effect Developer SDK which is very easy to understand and to build services on top of it.

What's next for delos

We are looking forward to explore how to monetize delos.

We believe that we can use the Effect Network to train Machine Learning models. And also, we can try to monetize our API and allow other companies to aumatically upload tasks and campaigns in order to get help from the network.
