This crisis has been especially challenging for local businesses. They've seen their commerce closed down due to the lockdown, impacting their turnovers and jeopardising their longevity. The pain and uncertainty of the long lasting impacts of the covid-19 crisis on small business owners is staggering and likely to be substantial. With 93% of European businesses being SMEs the stakes for our economy are very high. This is where we drew our motivation: being able to give the means to small local shop owners to face this crisis and secure their livelihoods will be key in maintaining employment during and after this global crisis.
In France alone, local commerces employ 14 million people which representing 49% of all active employees. Small and medium businesses are the cornerstone of all neighbourhoods yet the most vulnerable to global crises. With DeliveryBind we are changing this narrative by offering digital opportunities worthy of giants to our local heroes.
Furthermore each of us are active residents of our neighbourhoods meaning we each in our own way have helped our most vulnerable neighbours be it from making runs to the supermarket to a simple chat through a closed door. Aside from the economics of our solution, we wanted to take our engagement to the next level by creating a solution that binds active residents such as ourselves, vulnerable neighbours and our local businesses widening the range of our impact and inspiring others to join us in this journey.
A solution that binds low carbon footprint, local production with European solidarity to give back the power to the very people that make our economy function.
