Inspiration

we were inspired from our families . they go out daily to buy goods from supermarkets even it is very dangerous through the pandemic , but unfortunately they don’t have another choice.

What it does

This delivery drone can transport goods in ease. It takes the goods from any store that own one and delivers it to the customer by just one click in an app that is created specially for the store .This app can tell how much time is left till your order arrives to your roof or balcony.And it even allows to choose the items you need. Some required info will be needed by the app like your location in order to deliver your order in the exact spot you suggested.

How we built it

We thought of a design for our drone for making it much stronger to bear the groceries. by contrasting is it using a frame from wood, plastic or metal. in the shape of letter “X”. Next, we will make some holes in this frame to fix the motor to it with screws and screwdriver. There are some motors come with mounts that make it easier for you to affix them to the frame. Then, we will attach the electronic speed controllers (ESCs) with the bottom of the drone’s frame to free up more space for the other components to be added to the top. After that, attaching the landing gear to the drone to absorb the shock when it lands on the ground to avoid any accidents. This component is preferred to make from a flexible and strong material to absorb shock without breaking, adding a flight controller is essential in the drone. This allows the drone to stay stable whilst in flight, and make sense of all the shifts and changes in the wind. Then, attaching a piece of sponge underneath the controller to reduce the vibrations coming from the drone. Finally, we should connect a LibrePilot to our drone to control and test the UAVs. The ESCs also must be connected with the flight controller. The drone is connected with Arduino and GPS.we can connect LibrePilot to our drone and check that everything is working via the software. To make the drone autonomous, we should connect it with waypoint GPS navigation tracking system and be programmed by Arduino to be able to autonomously fly from one location to another using GPS coordinates. A Significant consideration is given to safety and ruggedness due to the possibility of collision with a variety of objects.

Challenges we ran into

the drone is not able to be used in Egypt because it uses camera so we developed it to be able to work without it as the height for the fight will be big so it will be safe from tall buildings and it will detect the location of the customer so it will land slowly on his/ her roof .

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In this idea, we have accomplished some achievements that we are proud of. After addressing the challenges due to COVID-19 pandemic, we found that the economy has been disrupted. People around the world have a challenge to buy home necessities. If they go out to buy them or order them to arrive home with delivery man, they are exposed to be infected with COVID-19. So, in our project, we tried to utilize the drone and add some modifications to it for using it to bring these necessities. Our project also can play a good role in providing job opportunities for programmers in the current circumstances.

What we learned

we learned more about the "drone" and its components and we new more about GPS and its uses.

What's next for Delivery Drone

more options can be added as carrying more weight or developing the battery to work for longer time
