Inspiration

We were inspired by how difficult it is for people with dietary restrictions to find desserts that they, and their friends or family that may or may not have dietary restrictions, can enjoy together. We have friends who are vegan, and we wanted to create a simple website where everyone could find an item that suited their lifestyle.

What it does

This website offers a unique approach to recipes for individuals with dietary restrictions. We open with a picture gallery, and viewers are able to click on photographs they find tasty, which leads them to those specific dessert recipes. In the corner of the images, there are codes to show which desserts are for which individuals. V stands for vegan, GF stands for gluten free, DF stands for Dairy Free, and NR stands for no restrictions. We also have an about us section where we tell what percentage of our recipes fit each lifestyle, and then we also have a contact section, a statistics section, and a footer. Our website is interactive, and images and buttons change color when the viewer hovers over them. We also have a header that continues to be visible as the viewer scrolls down, as well as a sidebar that is also interactive. Many of the photos in our website pop up in a larger window when clicked on to increase viewer visibility. We also created a custom logo on Adobe Illustrator for our website.

How we built it

We built it in notepad using javascript, css, and html.

What's next for Deliciously Delectable Desserts

Next, we can move towards allowing users to filter dessert recipes based on their dietary restrictions, so they no longer need to view all the recipes at once. There is also the possibility of allowing users to create accounts so that they are able to share recipes they enjoy with family and friends.
