Inspiration
Blockchain offers a unique opportunity for asset game creators to monetize their work and for players to actually own asset of a game
What it does
My project is named DegenMugen, it's a NFT betting game based on ikemen go, an open source fork of MUGEN https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mugen_(game_engine). Ikemen go is a 2D fighting game engine.
DegenMugen is a marketplace and a platform where people can create, buy, sell and play with their fighter (NFT) and bet on them during a fight. Game assets (fighters, stage...) from Mugen are compatible with ikemen go. These assets will be NFT (already 1000 characters available and 100s stages).
How we built it
The tech used are solidity for the smart contract, web3 library for the front end, hardhat, python for the backend and Ikemen go for the game itself.
Challenges we ran into
The challenges I ran into are learning what is a blockchain and how to use it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that I made a local demo of my app and a video of it. It was not easy because tutorials and information online are often outdated because the blockchain ecosystem is moving fast.
What we learned
I learned also that you should sell your project to people, do marketing and partnership. Users will not come by magic to your project
What's next for DegenMugen
Building the community, doing the NFT sale, launching on testnet then on mainnet, doing the token sale
Built With
