Inspiration

We all travel a lot, and it seems like travel is easy. But travel industry has a few dark secrets:

1) All hotel bookings are powered by 2 companies: Priceline and Expedia 2) All other hotel booking websites (Hotels.com, Kayak, all of them!) belong to either Priceline or Expedia 3) These companies charge an average commission fee of 18%. E.g. you book a hotel for $100, and the hotel will then have to pay Booking $18, probably making just a few dollars on this sale. Airline industry is as centralized, with two companies controlling the majority of the market: Amadeus and Sabre. The issue is? Centralization!
