The Problem DeGen Solves

Mobile Money and Web2 banking are mostly used everywhere, but here lies the case where most users are victims of scams (false transaction of received amount, account draining, stolen account information). This becomes hard as users can’t tell a fake transaction from a real one, making it hard to protect themselves.

At the same time, jumping into Web3 is complex, fragmented, and intimidating for the average user. There’s no smooth path from mobile banking to DeFi yield.

What is DeGen?

DeGen is a platform that bridges traditional mobile banking with decentralized finance (DeFi). It uses real-time transaction analysis, fraud detection, and Web3 integrations to help users understand, protect, and grow their money.

Users can convert their mobile banking or mobile money assets directly within the platform through our integration with Bybit, allowing them to seamlessly purchase USDT without leaving the app.

Once they’ve acquired USDT, users can:

Participate in cross-chain lending and token swaps, accessing liquidity and earning yield across multiple blockchains
Join Conditional Voting, where users vote on shared investment strategies and earn more yield (or take collective risk) depending on success
Play in a fully on-chain Blackjack game, competing head-to-head with other users using USDT, with the winner taking the full pot

DeGen makes it easy to go from Web2 to Web3 without needing multiple apps or complex steps. It brings DeFi, gaming, and governance directly to users inside a secure, familiar, mobile-first environment.

How Does DeGen Make It Easy for Users?

AI agent is meant to help users manage their portfolio, perform smart investments (swaps and lends), and track their yield growth.
The chat feature helps users interact with the AI that manages their account for them so they can have an idea of what is going on.
In the chat, the user can request account balances, send transactions to addresses, and also get transactions.

AI agents help users swap account balance for USDT/USDC without even leaving the app.

Enhancements

Enhanced AI Agent Capabilities: Integrate more advanced AI features, such as predictive analytics, to provide users with personalized investment recommendations.
Multi-Language Support: Add support for multiple languages to cater to a broader user base.
User Education: Develop an in-app educational resource center to help users understand DeFi, Web3, and the benefits of using DeGen.
Community Building: Create a community forum or social media group for users to share experiences, ask questions, and provide feedback.

Challenges We Ran Into

We actually joined the hackathon late, due to that we had less time to implement our whole goal for DeGen.

CDP verification was a challenge. All documents I submitted were being rejected.
Configuring Agentkit also was a bit of challenge. The docs weren’t too straightforward and you had to read more code from their GitHub to figure some things out.

Mostly these are basic challenges, nothing major really. At the end of the day we were able to figure it out so that was great.

3Percent Hacks - Building with Web3 and AI

I worked a bit on the frontend bringing together the magnificent design with a touch of liquid glass (a mid version). My major contribution was to the AI integration.

Using langchain and langchain/groq I was able to create a DeFi agent and also linked to xmtp to have a decentralized chat. Currently the AI perform a fraction of it’s capabilities but ideally what it was meant to do was:

1. Aid users in managing their portfolio and discovering new ways to increase their yields. It will do this by analyzing assets in the market and finding the low risk ones for the user that is based on the user settings. Leveraging a multi agent system agents will perform predictions and sentimental analysis to determine the best outcome for investments and also quickly withdraw under market conditions.

2. It is also meant to monitor user account for transactions that is their linked centralized accounts. When a user receives a suspicious message from an unknown person regarding a transaction the AI will immediately send them a notification saying the alert was false based on the increase in account balance as of last check. No balance increase indicates a fraud message.

3. Before the AI executes any type of transaction or any action that involves user data and user funds the user needs to provide appropriate approval, this may seem like an inconvenience but it gives the user sovereignty over their data and account. Even if the agent is set to autonomous mode once it involves using user data or funds the user needs to okay it so that users are held accountable for actions and not blame the AI.

AI agents will be layered with zk to prevent them from truly know who the use is but can only identify them by the address and it encrypts that address with a private key it generates.

This is the true goal of what we had hope to accomplish but time was not friendly and the tooling was a bit challenging. Hope to push this project and help users stay safe.
