Inspiration

Having worked in the Defence sector for some time now as a CCO, Allison continuously came across companies complaining about the issues they faced when it came to Defence procurement pipeline management. We realized that this wasn't an issue that effected Defence companies once a year but every single day and was an issue that effected everyone no matter how big or small the company was. This inspired us to work together to Co-Found DefRM.

What it does

DefRM is the worlds first CRM tool built specifically for Defence. It is purpose-built for multi-year, classified defence contracts — not a reskinned SaaS CRM.

How we built it

We utilized Bolt and Loveable, instructing them to use Typescript, Tailwind, and Vite. By using both sites we were able to clearly see any issues and have a better view on designs as we went. Constantly having 2 options thereby a better handle of where we wanted things to go.

Challenges we ran into

Well a pretty big challenge is that one of us does not know how to code at all whereas the other is a coder but has never "vibe coded" before. However our determination and eagerness made both sides learn as much as possible to complete the task at hand.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of the fact that we have made to create an almost fully functional MVP in such a short timeframe, additionally it has been amazing getting to know members in similar industries who are keen on working together down the line.

What we learned

It is incredibly easy to utilize bolt, we have never had a real opportunity to utilize it before today but it is safe to say I will now make it a regular part of my arsenal.

What's next for DefRM

The security standards are currently too low for the current state of the MVP so we will have the review and rebuild to sufficient standards to avoid compromising.
