Inspiration
Many apps can track your activity, but they are boring! Working out for mere statistics makes exercise seem like a chore. With our app, we wanted to make exercise more exciting than ever.
What it does
Using a variety of fitness challenges, our app encourages people to get up and move. Users will perform an exercise (running, high knees, butt kicks) for a certain time or distance (50 m, 100 m, 200 m/ 1 min, 3 min, 5 min) corresponding to the difficulty level (easy, medium, hard, respectively).
How we built it
We programmed the app in PebbleCloud using the C language.
Challenges we ran into
The first challenge we ran into was the biggest. As high school students, we have limited programming experience; Besides that, none of us had ever even learned the C language! We did our best to learn it in the first few hours. Some difficulties we had with programming were controlling the buttons, synchronizing them with screen changes, and measuring the distance traveled by the user.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of getting the app to work.
What we learned
Asking a mentor for help is very useful! Also, a lot of persistence is needed to learn an new language.
What's next for Défiteness
We plan to add a larger variety of challenges with different difficulty levels and exercises. In addition, we want to add a leader board so users can see their own and their friend's high scores for friendly competition.
