Inspiration

Every DeFi trader stares at the same problem: dashboards full of numbers but zero explanation. TVL dropped 19%? Great, but why? Was it a whale exit, a governance vote, or yield compression? No tool answered that in plain English. I wanted to build the Bloomberg Terminal for DeFi, where AI narrates the data, not just displays it.

What it does

DeFi Analyst Terminal is a two-module AI research tool:

  • Search any DeFi protocol (Uniswap, Aave, Lido, Curve)
  • Live TVL, 24h change, 7D change, chain breakdown
  • Risk Assessment Badge — HIGH RISK / MODERATE / STABLE / STRONG INFLOW based on real TVL movement
  • AI Analyst View — 3-sentence institutional-grade commentary explaining what the numbers actually mean

👛 Wallet Analyzer

  • Paste any Ethereum wallet address
  • Wallet profile: DeFi Power User / Active Trader / Holder
  • Recent token activity with IN/OUT flow tracking
  • AI commentary on wallet behavior patterns

How we built it

Built entirely using MeDo through natural language conversation, zero manual coding required.

  • Data: DefiLlama API — free, live on-chain protocol data
  • Wallet: Etherscan API — transaction and token history
  • AI Engine: Rule-based analyst commentary system generating institutional-grade insights from raw metrics
  • Design: Professional financial terminal UI — navy, cyan accents, clean metric cards

The entire app, API integration, tab navigation, risk scoring, market feed, and deployment, was built through MeDo conversation in under 12 hours, solo.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was AI narration reliability. External AI APIs hit CORS restrictions when called from the browser; Groq and Anthropic both failed at this layer. The solution was building a smart rule-based commentary engine that generates analyst-quality text directly from protocol data, with no external AI dependency, instant response, and zero failure rate.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a fully functional, deployed DeFi research tool in under 12 hours using only MeDo
  • The "Explain Like Analyst" feature works seamlessly, and raw TVL data becomes Bloomberg-style commentary instantly
  • Two complete working modules with professional UI
  • Risk Assessment system that correctly flags protocols with significant capital outflows

What we learned

MeDo is genuinely powerful for data-heavy applications. The key insight: prompt iteratively, one feature at a time, rather than asking for everything at once. MeDo handled API integration, UI logic, tab navigation, and deployment through pure conversation with zero code.
