Inspiration
We were inspired by several sources, such as online calculators and older discord math bots, however the main goal for us was to build an all in one math bot that can not only output equations but also symbolically solve these equations as well.
What it does
This bot performs useful calculations on discord.
How we built it
We used python, the sympy library, matplotlib and discord's API.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we faced was finding a way to host the bot 24/7 as many vps(virtual private server) providers did not allow us to install other programs such as latex.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to successfully implement several calculus features and we were able to output answers in latex form as well.
What we learned
Making a discord bot, hosting a discord bot and the sympy library.
What's next for DeerMath Calculator Bot
Adding support for other math features such as linear algebra functions.
