Inspiration
The AR Animation that I'm involed in 2022 transfers a oriental ink painting "Waterfall and Deers" into animation. The painting was createdby 13 NTNU faculty members in 1985, about two deers wandering near waterfall in the mountain. I was wondering if the audience can reach the aniamted deer or have it on a pocket-sized card?
What it does
It delievers Snap AR experience by tightly tracking to a marker image of Taipei EasyCard, to reaveal a 3D animated deer wandering around the card.
How we built it
- Theme, Ideation, Direction by Yuting Hsueh
- 3D design & animation in Maya by Pinxian Qiu, Yingqi Chen
- 2D texture in Photoshop by Yun Hong, Zhaoyu Zhou
- AR compositing & design in Snap Lens Studio by Yuting Hsueh
Challenges we ran into
Respresenting the visual style of tradition oriental ink painting in 3D animation and still qualified/optimized for AR.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Making AR animation from scratch without coding backgound.
- Transder traditional oriental ink painting to animated new media of AR adaption
What we learned
Marker Tracking in Snap Lens Studio
What's next for Deer on EasyCard
