What it does
DeepScholar is a website for students who either want to or are already in the majors related to ocean. It helps find opportunities related to the major, including but not limited to scholarships, internships or research opportunities. It takes your resume, analyzes it, and gives you best matches.
How we built it
We used Next.js for front end, FastAPI for backend, OpenAI for the AI parsing.
Challenges we ran into
Finding and scraping the data for existing ocean related major opportunities.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting done what we've done in such a short time is an accomplishment of itself in our opinion.
What's next for DeepScholar
We've only managed to build foundation of the app, since it turned out to be too ambitious. The next step would be to actually automatize scraping the existing internships/scholarships and match them to resumes uploaded.
