Inspiration
Since the spread of AI-generated deepfakes has raised significant concerns about disinformation and digital fraud, we set out to create a website that helps identify deepfake content by assessing its authenticity in media, social media, and security applications.
What it does
It is a website quite similar to AI detector, but ours will gauge the authenticity of the image by giving the percentage.
How we built it
To include a pretrained deepfake detecting AI model into our website, we utilized Node.js for the backend and React for the frontend. We also enhanced the user experience by providing clear visual clues and comprehensive reporting on detected deepfake elements.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting the AI model to our website efficiently and creating a user-friendly interface that enables non-technical users to detect deepfakes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Developing an intuitive and user-friendly interface and successfully integrating a cutting-edge deepfake detection model into a website.
What we learned
How to integrate pretrained AI models into a web application.
What's next for Deepfake Detection
Expanding the quantity of live video streams with real-time deepfake detection capabilities. Adding additional AI models to identify deepfakes in speech. Collaborating with fact-checking organizations to combat misinformation.
