Inspiration

Deep Skills is an operational infrastructure for decentralized coordination of work. It resulted from building a decentralized and permissionless product design studio (Deep Work Studio) in web3. After working with over 50 different blockchain teams remotely we learned how to create a fully decentralized organization with autonomous teams.

With this project, we planned to bring the Deep Skills operational infrastructure to AstroDAO, supporting the emergence of DAOs on NEAR while keeping track of individuals' contributions and their respective payments. We ended up designing an interactive prototype of the primary user journey in Figma.

What it does

Many teams have brilliant ideas but coordinating, committing to work, and keeping track of contributions is a big bottleneck for DAOs. The proof-of-concept prototype shows how we can use an AstroDAO proposal with data from Deep Skills and turn it into a collaborative project with specific tasks. Rather than a one-off bounty board, AstroDAO can become an organizational job board for NEAR DAOs, showing gathered reputation data on stats.gallery. Projects created by DAOs are saved on-chain through AstroDAOs smart contracts and are therefore immutable on people's profiles.

How we built it

We used open source code from AstroDAO and stats.gallery to design a brief prototype. We interviewed a few stakeholders at NEAR for desired features and understood the most necessary connection of existing tools to solve an important problem.

Challenges we ran into

AstroDAOs source code was difficult to deploy, so for the sake of the presentation we ended up designing a prototype in Figma and adjusting frontend on stats.gallery to communicate the concept.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to design a coherent user journey that already attracts teams to make use of the workflow.

What we learned

We understood that we can easily create a connection between AstroDAO, our project Deep Skills and stats.gallery to store projects on-chain and display them on NEAR wallet profiles.
